Chromebook Inventory/Update!
This school year, your student was issued a CMS Chromebook and charger. To ensure accurate inventory, all Mallard Creek High devices will be collected this summer through a rolling drop-off at your convenience.
All devices have an asset tag & serial number that is assigned to the correct student.
All devices will be shut down beginning July 11th.
Summer School Chromebook Use Form– must be completed if you want to maintain access to your Chromebook in summer school.
All device(s) and chargers will be assessed and fees charged if damage is present or if the student does not turn in a device and/or charger. Please see the Device Fee Structure below for current fees.
Students who return their device properly are ensured to receive a new device on the first day of school, Monday, August 26th. Students who keep their inactive device through the summer may experience delays at the start of the school year with receiving an updated Chromebook.
Returning students will be issued a CMS device at the start of the 2024-2025 academic school year. Rising-9th graders already have a device ready to be issued the first day since they are a new student.

Chromebook Drop-Off–Mondays-Thursdays, 8:00am-2:00pmat the left entrance by the Evolv machine. Chromebooks should be neatly stacked into the bins, please wrap chargers with the cord and place in the correct bin. Chromebookfees paid via OSP

Summer Hours of Operation
Until August 2nd, CMS schools will operate on a four-day work week. MCHS will be open Monday-Thursday 7:30am-1:00pm and from 2:00pm-4:30pm. MCHS is closed on Fridays.
Registration
All paperwork must be completed prior to bringing it to MCHS. Registration packets can be found on the CMS website. Documents needed to enroll:

Birth certificate or other proof of age and legal name proofs of Mecklenburg County
residency
Two Proof of Residency (see 2nd page of enrollment packet)
Safe Schools Enrollment Declaration - (Required for students transferring into CMS)
Current immunization records (Complete record required by first day of school entry)
Health Assessment (All children entering NC public schools for the first time must submit
Proof of a health assessment within 30 days of the start of school)

Requesting Bus Transportation 2024-2025 School Year
In preparation for the 2024-2025 school year, please assist our transportation department by declaring your student’s transportation needs below. Completingthis form will secure transportation service for eligible students. If you need to request an alternate stop such as a afterschool program or different express stop, the 2024-25 alternate stop form is available on the CMS transportation website. Please complete this form for each student in your household.

Are you and your child receiving ParentSquare messages? If not, it likely means you have not properly registered or your contact information is not updated in PowerSchool. ParentSquare is the primary medium for school and teacher communication. If you need to update your contact information (primary phone or email) in PowerSchool please email latonya.watson@cms.k12.nc.us.
On July 10th, all parents and students were sent an invitation tocreate a Parent/StudentSquare account if you are not already registered. The invitation was sent to the email and phone number listed in PowerSchool.
Athletics
Summer workouts for football, soccer, girl’s tennis, volleyball, cheer, and boys/girls cross country men’s and women’s basketball have begun. In order to participate, student’s must have a current Dragonfly account with a current physical uploaded into Dragonfly and be academically eligible.

The Mallard Creek Maverick Band is on a mission! We have been invited to attend the Pepsi "National Battle of the Bands Competition" in Houston, TX. This is an incredible achievement, as our band is one of the few high schools across the nation invited to perform. The best band in the city is now one of thebest high school bands in the nation!

2025 Seniors Portraits
CADY is our school’s exclusive photographer and school pictures are going to be a little different this year. In order for your child to be in their senior yearbook, you must have their portrait taken with CADY. This is a very busy year so ideally, you’ll book your session this summer. Don’t worry though, CADY specializes in senior portraits with several different session options to fit every need. Their state-of-the-art studios have endless scene options, changing rooms, and a professional staff.
Weekend schedules fill up fast, so book early to secure your spot! Get your photos for your family, grad announcements, senior yearbook ads, and more. Remember — Book early and don’t let your senior get left out of the yearbook!
